The Toorak Hotel, Torquay

I had the best day at Nathan & Beths big day, a lovely weekday wedding which I always enjoy. More & more weddings are being held midweek, my past 3 have been and I particularly love it. Guests have got a day off work and everyone feels in the holiday mood :)

I have known Beth for a few years, I photographed her Mothers wedding and I know the family pretty well. It was just fab to be able to capture their special day.

I arrived in the morning to join the girls all getting ready, the room was pretty chilled and prep was well underway.

The Toorak hotel is a very grand venue in the heart of Torquay... its pretty huge so the each part of the wedding was in a separate part of the hotel. It all was really impressive and run by the staff like clock work. Beth looked amazing in her dress as did all the bridesmaids and Nathan and his chaps looked dapper. I loved the added tasteful touch of having a poppy instead of a button hole.

After the intimate ceremony we all gathered outside in the gardens to take some family shots (and also some of the VIP Lilly) before I took the couple off over the road into Torre Abbeys gardens. The leaves had all fallen so we took a stroll down to the Abbey which also gave them a chance to have some time on their own. ALWAYS so important :)

I stayed until nightfall to shoot the evening and the first dance which was on the biggest dance floor I have ever seen! The party was definitely in full swing by the time I left!
