Haldon Belvedere - Jonathan & Sabrina
What an adventure! I always knew Jon & Sabrinas big day was going to be a highlight of my wedding season but I didn't anticipate how much!
They booked me a while ago, the wedding all planned and prepared down to every last detail, I do recommend couples book early..its so important that you enjoy the last few months of the buildup to the day. It turned out in the end that I used to work with Jon years ago so it was nice to be able to play a part in their special day.
So here goes...! I turned up nice and early yesterday at Sabrinas grandparents house...an 8am start..! Now I get offered all sorts when I do weddings, but her grandparents were definitely the hostesses... I felt like I was one of the guests and not working, we had such a laugh whilst they were getting ready that it got the day off to a perfect start. Its so important that I get on with the families and because they were so welcoming I think it shines through in the photography.
Sabrina was getting ready with her two little girls and my second shooter Sarah was with the groom at The Hotel du Vin in Exeter.
The ceremony was being held at The Haldon Belvedere, an intimate venue overlooking Exeter...the views are incredible up there and I always make the most of the scenery and landscape. Jon was waiting nervously...and emotionally. I love it when a Groom can show his emotions, makes my job easier!!
This wedding day wasn't like any other that I have ever done. For one I didn't take a car, I had a taxi up, then jumped on a double decker bus they had booked for everyone, then we had a ride down the River Exe on a boat. I cant miss out the little ferry ride first and the tour down Exeter High street on the bus. It was all such fun and something I don't think the guests will forget in a hurry.
I think my second shooter Sarah loved it as she could tan her legs in the sun waiting for us at the final destination, The Double Locks.
You know when a couple are just meant to be... Sabrina & Jon had been together since school. they have two gorgeous little girls and you know...you just know. It was obvious that this was for a lifetime.
The sun was setting on a gorgeous hot day and never one to miss an opportunity I pulled them away for a bit to get some shots in the field. I would say this was a highlight of my day, but I really couldn't pick any of it out. The day was just perfect.
Congratulations to you all, it was an honour to be your photographer.
