Exeter Castle

Ben & Heathers special day has been in the making for a few years... They approached me a long time ago to book and it feels so strange now that its finally come around! I met Heather and Ben through their family & friends weddings so it was definitely their time!

The day was being held at Exeter Castle, an experience for me as although always living in Exeter I have never actually been inside the castle or photographed a wedding here. One now to tick off!!

I joined Heather and her girls in the morning for the bridal prep, the house was buzzing and the prosecco was definitely flowing, there was a great atmosphere which ran straight through to the whole day.

Exeter castle is a grand venue full of history with a huge courtyard perfect for all your guests to get together. The ceremony room was my favourite and gave me the most perfect light to capture the vows. Heather looked stunning and it was lovely to see Ben start with the nerves and then get emotional AND then breathe a sigh of relief once they were named Husband & Wife,

The guests were out to have a lot of fun and there were lots of laughs to capture and some very funny moments. It was so nice to see the bride & groom not take themselves seriously with the photography and just take the day as it came.

Behind the castle is Rougement gardens, a place with many quirky places to shoot and also the most lovely gardens. At some point in the day its crucial to get time on your own, Ben & Heather took some time off alone after the ceremony which I thought was sweet and then I took them off after the meal. After all, you are getting married!

We got on so well during the day, they got me and I got them...They knew my style and I fitted in with how relaxed they were.

And hey...don't they all know how to party! The dance floor was FULL!
