The Anchor Inn, Hampshire

Phil & Niki

I'm still smiling, what fun we all had!

I was asked to photograph Phil & Nikis big day in Hampshire through a local recommendation which I was especially excited about. I love to travel to weddings and experience new areas and venues so after a good 3 hour drive I arrived WAY too early for the ceremony! Always be prepared?! A quick refresh and a look around the town and we were all set to go :)

I met them both earlier in the year to discuss all the details of their day, the plan was to keep the photography low key and relaxed. We also got on very well which is the most important part...Perfect.

The ceremony was being held in an intimate building in Alton, surrounded by their nearest and dearest (and some hilarious friends of Phils) it was lovely, informal and everything they wanted from their day. I say it a lot about all my weddings but it really really was amazing. I get more out of my photography when its not pushed, unposed and generally of a happy bunch!

After the ceremony we drove to The Anchor Inn, a gorgeous restaurant in a quaint little village. Surrounded by fields I got in the zone and also got carried away whilst taking shots of the two newlyweds on their own. Thats the love I have for not visiting a venue beforehand... I feel I can go with my instinct on what would make a good shot rather than over-thinking it and it works so much better.

The guests were so lovely and welcoming, it made my job so much easier. I couldn't stop smiling from the morning until the evening...the speeches were the best, the venue looked amazing and Phil & Niki were a joy to work with.

Thank you for having me, I hope you enjoy looking at your preview shots of your day xx
