Dan & Abbie

A scorcher! The hottest day of the year so far and we were spending it at a fabulous wedding!

The wedding of Dan & Abbie was held at the Deer Park hotel and the sun shone all day :)

I arrived in the morning to photograph them both getting ready and at the time I was anticipating a little bit of sunshine but they were so lucky to be able to have this amazing weather. Good old England.

I haven't photographed at Deer Park before, which always surprises me as its a popular venue steeped in history. I love being treated to new venues (for me) as it always feels so fresh creativity wise. I wasn't disappointed as the grounds are spectacular with so many places we could use for photos.

I could feel the nerves all morning from both Abbie & Dan, a lovely couple who have been together for years and have a gorgeous son Harvey. Dan was getting ready in the treehouse and Abbie in one of the houses with all her bridesmaids. I was spoilt really at the whole look of the place.

Their ceremony was held outside by the summer house, which was stunning. The surroundings were beautiful and their vows perfect.

With the sun still blazing the guests all returned to the main hotel for drinks outside, for the next hour we did shoot some groups but mostly I just took reportage style images. I never try to push the photos after the ceremony as I know the bride & groom want to greet everyone and talk so I just capture the atmosphere.

We decided to do the newlywed shots after the meal and speeches to give the sun a chance to go down a bit! We headed off around the grounds making the most of what the venue had to offer. My most fav part of the day, a time to get really creative and a time to get those all important romantic photos. Its always lovely to do it at this time of the day too as we have a lot more time to relax and get into the flow of it - a photographer always needs to get into their flow!

The reception room was perfect for a good party, a room that filled up really quickly and the night had started! I must also mention their amazing wedding cake... WOW
