Pennard House

Kim & Simon

I was totally spoilt this week photographing the wedding of Kim & Simon. It is always lovely to work away from your usual area and shoot at new venues and take in new scenery. I was asked to photograph their wedding at Pennard House in Somerset, a grand ( but also homely ) manor house that is stepped in history. The house, coach house & gardens are absolutely beautiful... real English country garden.. freshly cut lawns, secret gardens, a church through the gate and a house filled with antiques. Totally spoilt !

I met the lovely couple a few weeks before at Pennard House, they booked me as they had seen me photograph their friends wedding a couple of years ago so they went by recommendation which is always lovely and heartwarming. We did a pre-wedding shoot & had a good chat about their big upcoming day. I was not disappointed, their day was filled with just pure gorgeousness.

From the intimate church ceremony and harpist to the canapés on the lawn and the personal touches in the reception room the new Mr & Mrs Hanks really made it their own. The sun shone so we were outside most of the day enjoying the gardens. I was able to steal them away mid afternoon for some shots of them on their own (my favourite part of the day) and we made the most of the sun by having another walk after dinner. I always say I am there all day so make the most of me!

The party was in full swing by 7.30... actually it was probably the fastest wedding party to start the dancing so early that I have seen... great stuff! The band were exceptional, and all the details of the day just came together.

We had sparklers, a stunning cake, a venue to die for and most importantly a perfect Bride & Groom.

Congratulations on the most amazing day, I was honoured to be a part of it and tell your story.

Here is a small preview xx
