Fox & Hounds, Eggesford

Richard & Kerry

I was treated to a lovely wintery wedding photographing Richard & Kerrys big day at The Fox & Hounds Country Hotel.

I was approached by them in the summer as they were needing someone to step in and I am glad it was me :)

The Fox & Hounds is a gorgeous venue located in Eggesford, one of those hotels you pass by in the car and glance at and think 'wow'. It has the most amazing grounds complete with large gardens, ponds & a treehouse !

Kerry & Richard wanted a totally relaxed approach to their day but I persuaded Kerry to let me drop into the hotel late morning to capture all the little details of her preparation. I am pleased she agreed as those anticipated moments before the bride leaves are some of my favourites of the day. PLUS her dress was stunning so it was totally worth it.

Today was a church wedding day, I don't get many of those now...only a handful a year so I always look forward to shooting church weddings.

I sped off to South Molton and headed to their local church where Richard was patiently awaiting his Bride. The service was lovely & personal... and for bonus points the Vicar gave me free reign to wander.. well nearly! From a photographers point of view, it was so so welcoming and I must thank them for that.

Sticking to my script, we kept the photography low-key, we had a few select formal shots and the rest was of the happy couple and their guests having a great time. I managed to steal Mr & Mrs Smith away outside for some alone time and I think Richard became more relaxed in front of the camera! I certainly tried!

You could see the love they had for each other, so compatible in so many ways.. it was a pleasure to be able to witness their day and to be involved.

I adore winter weddings... the colours, the feel, the decor. PERFECT.
